The words which introduced the new Manifesto, both a declaration of rules and a poster to print and mount across the city, speak of mutual respect: “To the tourists who are arriving we say that Venice offers respect to those who respect her, and in this poster our graphic artist Alessandro Toso Fei has made an info-graphic summary of some minimum rules for civil coexistence.” -#veneziamiafuturo 8-27-2106
Reading the details on the poster itself, however, give one a real sense of what Venetians are dealing with in terms of the behavior of tourists. The list speaks for itself, not only in detailing tourist behaviors, but also in the generous and welcoming spirit in which it is written and drawn.
