The Campaign For A Living Venice was started in September 2016 by translator Paul Rosenberg and internationally acclaimed author Allan Gurganus, whose work includes Local Souls and Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All. Paul and Allan, who both live in North Carolina, came together to launch this campaign through a shared love for the city, and a strong desire to do something in support of Venice.
The site’s focus is producing English translations of news and opinion from Venice in order to make information about current events more widely accessible.
